Throughout Tamil Nadu, serving food to other people is considered an act of great religious significance. Like other parts of Tamil Nadu, coffee is the most popular beverage of Dindigul. Madras filter coffee or ‘Kottu’ is very popular in households. The basic tradition is the prepare coffee with sugar and milk, and then drink it from a small steel glass. Dindigul is a trading place and hence businessmen and traders from all over India come here. So, apart from coffee, tea is also quite popular. In recent times, with the increase of health consciousness, green tea are getting popular in this place.
